Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy applies to the AutoStart Manager Android application (package name com.sugarapps.autostartmanager) and related in-app services such as analytics, advertising, crash reporting, and Google Play billing. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.

Information We Collect

We collect information in three broad categories: data you configure in the App, data stored locally on your device, and data processed by us or our service providers to operate and improve the App.

Information you provide through the App

• Apps you add to or remove from your auto-start list, including app display names, package names, and whether each app should launch in the background.
• App settings such as auto-start on/off, boot launch order, launch delay between apps, theme preference, notification preferences, haptic feedback, and onboarding completion status.
• Premium purchase status (ad-free / subscription), verified through Google Play and stored locally to unlock features.

Information collected automatically on your device

• A locally generated device identifier used for analytics (derived from your Android device ID where available).
• Device and environment details such as device manufacturer, brand, model, Android version, app version, and language/locale.
• Usage and diagnostic events, including screen views, boot launch outcomes, permission prompts, ad load/show events, subscription flow steps, and notification interactions.
• When you add, remove, or change auto-start apps, analytics may include the relevant app package name and display name to help us understand feature usage and troubleshoot launch failures.
• Crash and stability data collected through Firebase Crashlytics when the App encounters an error.

Installed application information

To let you pick apps to auto-start, the App reads launchable applications on your device (apps with a launcher icon). We do not request access to your full list of installed packages beyond what Android exposes for launcher apps. Only the apps you explicitly add are stored in the App’s local database.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, SMS messages, call logs, or precise location through the App.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Launch the apps you selected after device boot, in your chosen order and with your configured delay.
• Store and apply your preferences across App sessions.
• Send optional local notifications you control in Settings, such as boot launch summaries, launch failure alerts, suggestions for newly installed apps, and occasional premium offers.
• Display advertisements in the free version of the App and measure ad performance.
• Process in-app purchases and subscriptions through Google Play.
• Understand how the App is used, diagnose boot and launch issues across device manufacturers, improve reliability, and develop new features.
• Detect, prevent, and address technical problems and crashes.
• Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.

Permissions the App Requests

AutoStart Manager requires certain Android permissions to function. You can review and revoke some permissions in your device settings, though doing so may limit or disable core features.

• Receive boot completed — detects when your device finishes starting so selected apps can launch.
• Display over other apps (overlay) — required on many devices to launch other applications from the background after boot; requested during onboarding.
• Notifications — delivers optional alerts about boot launches, failures, new app suggestions, and premium offers when enabled in Settings.
• Internet access — loads ads, syncs analytics and crash reports, verifies purchases, and retrieves consent forms.
• Wake lock and foreground service — keeps the boot launch process running reliably until your selected apps have been started.

The App may also open manufacturer-specific system settings screens (for example on Xiaomi, OPPO, Huawei, Samsung, or OnePlus devices) so you can grant auto-start permissions required on those devices. We do not receive the contents of those system screens.

Local Storage on Your Device

Much of your data stays on your device and is not uploaded to our own servers:

• Your auto-start app list is stored in a local SQLite database on your device.
• Preferences and counters (theme, boot order, launch delay, notification toggles, onboarding state, purchase flags, and similar settings) are stored in private app storage.
• Boot session state used to avoid duplicate launches during a single boot cycle is kept locally and cleared when appropriate.

Android backup for this App is disabled. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored auto-start lists and preferences unless your device restores data through a separate backup mechanism outside our control.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the App. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies:

• Google Play Billing — processes subscription and one-time purchase transactions. Payment details are handled by Google, not by us.
• Google AdMob and ad mediation partners — serves ads through Google AdMob, which may include Meta Audience Network, AppLovin, and Unity Ads as mediation partners. These services may use advertising identifiers, device information, and interaction data to deliver and measure ads.
• Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) — presents consent choices where required for personalized advertising in applicable regions.
• Mixpanel — product analytics to understand feature usage, boot performance, and subscription flows.
• Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics — usage measurement and crash reporting to improve stability.
• Google Play In-App Review — may prompt you to rate the App on Google Play after sufficient usage.

Advertising

The free version of AutoStart Manager displays banner, native, interstitial, and app-open advertisements. If you purchase the ad-free premium option, advertising is disabled for your account on that device once purchase status is verified.

Where required by law, we ask for your consent before serving personalized ads. You can change ad personalization choices through the consent form shown in the App or through your device’s advertising settings (for example, resetting or opting out of the Android advertising ID).

Ad partners may collect and use data independently to provide, personalize, and measure advertising. Their use of data is governed by their respective policies.

In-App Purchases

Premium features, including removing ads, are sold through Google Play. We receive confirmation of purchase status from Google Play but do not collect or store your payment card or bank details. Google processes all payment information under its own privacy policy.

Notifications

Notifications are optional and controlled from Settings in the App. Types include boot launch summaries, launch failure alerts, suggestions when a new launchable app is installed, and occasional premium reminders. You can turn off all notifications using the master switch or disable individual notification types while keeping others enabled.

Notification content may reference app names or package names relevant to the event (for example, which app failed to launch on boot). Notifications are delivered locally by the App; we do not operate a separate push notification server for marketing broadcasts.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited situations:

• With service providers listed above, strictly to operate analytics, advertising, billing, and crash reporting for the App.
• When required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable government request.
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of Sugar Apps, our users, or others.
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to the commitments in this policy.

Data Retention

Data stored locally on your device remains until you change it, clear app data, or uninstall the App. Analytics, advertising, and crash-reporting providers retain data according to their own retention schedules and your device or account settings with those providers. We retain aggregated or de-identified analytics that no longer identifies you for as long as needed for product improvement.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your information, or to object to processing and data portability.

• Manage auto-start apps, launch settings, and notifications directly in the App.
• Remove ads by purchasing the premium option through Google Play.
• Control ad personalization through the in-app consent flow and your device advertising settings.
• Revoke permissions such as notifications or overlay access in Android system settings.
• Clear local App data or uninstall the App to delete locally stored auto-start lists and preferences.

To exercise privacy rights or ask questions about data we process through our service providers, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law. If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children’s Privacy

AutoStart Manager is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

International Transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Those providers use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable data protection laws.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the App. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the App or Google Play listing. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Change of Control

If we sell or transfer the App or our business assets to another organization, information described in this policy may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor will be required to honor the commitments made in this Privacy Policy unless you are notified otherwise and consent where required by law.
